Los Angeles League Earns Film Credit.
The League of Women Voters of Los Angeles invites you to celebrate California Women's Suffrage Centennial at the Autry National Center! LWVLA will participate by registering voters throughout the day.
Among the day's activities will be a screening of a new documentary: "The Sixth Star: California Women Win the Vote!" Make your own suffragist sash and go on a "Hands-On History" tour highlighting women's contributions to the West. National Voter Registration Day.
In 2008, 6 million Americans told the US Census that they did not vote because they did not know how to register or they missed their state's voter registration deadline. In 2012, we want to make sure no American is left out.
On September 25, 2012, volunteers, celebrities, and organizations from all over the country will "hit the streets" for National Voter Registration Day. This single day of coordinated volunteer, technology and media efforts will create widespread awareness of voter registration opportunities--allowing us to reach tens of thousands of voters or more who we could not reach otherwise. |
