In December units are to discuss any national and county program ideas that they have for presenting to the rest of the League in January at our formal Program Planning League Day.

If you have an idea, be sure it follows League's principles, fits the interest of the group, is something that the League can have an influence on. Is this an issue on which legislative action is needed? Will political realities permit effective government action during the next two years? Does this issue involve a need not being well met by other groups? Is this an issue that would attract participation from the community and our members? Would it entice new members? diverse members? If recommending a study, will this issue still be timely when the study is completed in two years? Is there member interest and commitment to this topic? Could the League play a significant role in impacting community concern and/or public policy decisions on this issue? Is this an issue that will attract financial support? Given all this, what exactly do you want to accomplish for the next two years? What issue reflects the reality of League communities nationwide? It is time for you to decide.
