Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate Forum w/ PBI

On February 18th, the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles and the Pat Brown Institute held a mayoral candidate forum at California State University, Los Angeles. The debate was broadcasted by KABC-TV and moderated by Eyewitness News anchor Marc Brown. All five mayoral candidates were present and answered questions from institute's executive director Raphael Sonenshein, Los Angeles League of Women Voters president David Holtzman and ABC7 Eyewitness News reporter John North.

LWVLA Addresses Climate Change
On May 11 at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre in Barnsdall Park, the League of Women Voters Los Angeles presented a Film Screening & Panel Discussion Event. The event featured the award winning documentary, Climate Refugees, and a video short from Oxfam America, Sisters on the Planet. In our panel discussion, attendees were able to hear what local experts and policymakers said could be done in Los Angeles now to mitigate our carbon footprint.You can check out photos of this event here!

On August 6, 2010, the League joined the LA Sparks for a night with LA's most inspiring women and for some exciting basketball. During the Tulsa Shock vs. LA Sparks game at Staples Center, the League was honored during the Pregame Reception and Halftime.

Celebration of 100 Years of California Women Voting at the Autry Museum

The League of Women Voters of Los Angeles joined Wild West Women, Inc. and the Autry National Center in celebrating the 100th anniversary of women winning the right to vote in California.The League earned a film credit in "The Sixth Star: California Women Win the Vote!", a new documentary on California Women's Suffrage that was screened at the event. Attendees also enjoyed a day full of activities, that included docent-led tours highlighting women's contributions to the West, artwork by local Girls Scouts, and music by the Western Music Association.
